Motion Design Reel

This is work I designed and animated using primarily After Effects, Cinema 4D, X-particles, and Marvelous Designer.

Parx Casino

My primary role with Parx is to design and animate content for monthly promotions distributed on television, web, and interior and exterior screens on the property. I receive key art for each promotion, usually the title card, and then build on that art direction to design and animate each video.

This video was created for the three 65 foot exterior screens on the entrance of the building. The faces move between them and look down at the customers as they enter the building.

Wharton Interactive Project Breakdowns

I worked with Wharton Interactive to develop content for their interactive online learning courses. Primarily handling art direction and production, I utilized original 3D and 2D animation, as well as stock footage and photos to illustrate ideas and concepts for in-course content, promotional material, and in-person lectures.

Frank Donio Inc Brand Video

We worked with the marketing team at Frank Donio Inc on a fresh company profile focusing on their brand’s history, their vertical integration, and the fresh produce solutions they offer customers.

Wharton Global Forum

I worked alongside Wharton’s internal creative team for this video. They requested that it not fit their brand guidelines exactly, but still fit within their overall creative direction. I developed the look with one of their in-house designers and worked with their marketing team to use their own stock library and addition to Getty stock because there wasn’t time to shoot any original footage.

The Philadelphia Sensei – Lovett Hines Sizzle

I worked with producer, Donn T, who conducted the interviews on the project, to build out a concise narrative while utilizing great music from the featured artist to drive the rhythm and feel of edits. The producer provided me with broad sections of interview excerpts that she thought were important to the story, and I arranged and built out the narrative from this starting point. The edit utilized professional b-roll shot by a videographer, behind the scenes footage shot by a production assistant, stock footage, and music videos.

Double Bassist Joseph Conyers Profile

This is a full episode profile I edited for Joseph Conyers, which was nominated for a 2022 Daytime Emmy for best multicam editing. My focus was to not only display his technical mastery but let the emotion and content of his performance determine my decisions on the pacing and camera selection of the edit.

Feature Segment for Dancer and Choreographer Camille Brown

For this segment, I utilized music and choreography from both original and archival footage to guide my editing decisions. In sections featuring social dance and performance, I maintained a quicker pace, ensuring edits were synchronized with the beats. Conversely, for the segments reflecting on personal philosophies, I slowed the pace and footage to align with the tone of introspection.

Articulate with Jim Cotter Season 5 Sizzle Reel

I pitched, designed, animated, and edited this 30 second sizzle for season 5 of “Articulate with Jim Cotter.”

Feature Segment for Author Vikram Paralkar

This is a feature length segment I worked on with a writer and two videographers. I worked with the writer in pre-production to plan the look and content of the b-roll shoots with Vikram. I also designed and animated the motion graphics used during his books excerpts. I used inspiration from the art direction of his book covers as a starting point for the designs. His books are a mix of science and fantasy with dark themes, and we wanted to reflect that in the visuals of the piece. Motion graphic portions are at 1:13 and 7:26.

Wharton People Analytics Conference Video

For this project, I was given the media, interviews, and some visual reference for what they wanted the graphics package to look like. I designed and animated the graphics and constructed the story from the interviews after discussing the key talking points they wanted to hit.

Wharton Interactive Trailer

This is a trailer for interactive courses created and run by Wharton Interactive. The client was very open to ideas but wanted it to appeal to an international audience. There were also very few available assets from the actual game since they were still early in development. I created high resolution pdfs of the game pages and in-game videos to recreate the pages in 3D in After Effects and make them more dynamic and immersive for the trailer.

Classical Music Performances with The Philadelphia Orchestra

I edited this collaboration with Steve Martin and The Philadelphia Orchestra as part of a full program that debuted their 2020 season. The orchestra footage was a 20 cam multicamera set-up with Steve Martin synced with a click track.

“…what was wonderful about the production by a collaborative team (Jim Cotter was executive producer) is that it conveyed that live feeling, but with a lot of extras that you don’t get live in the concert hall. Shots of players were smartly chosen, often moving apace with the music. In the most positive sense, the online medium falls away and you really can focus on the music.”

Wharton Interactive AI Series

For this series, I worked with Wharton Interactive to develop the visuals and format for five videos explaining how AI can assist teachers and students in education. I created a graphics package and the art direction for the series and was the editor on three of the five videos. There is an animated section at 3:52 to help visualize how AI works.

“The Saturn Parable” Trailer

I combined narrative elements from a few different scenes to create this trailer from the motion graphics and 3D shots I designed and animated for Wharton Interactive’s “The Saturn Parable” game.
